Some of the responsibilities he assumed include:
- Director for senior secondary school;
- Principal for the Teacher Training Institute;
- Dean for TTC ;
- Advisor to the Minister, Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Ministry of Education;
- Head, Higher Education Capacity Building Desk , Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Ministry of Education;
- Deputy Director General of Ethiopia Management Institute and President of Kotebe University College ( KUC);
- Founding President of Kotebe Metropolitan University ( KMU);
- Currently he is the Founding President of Kotebe University of Education .
Some of the additional responsibilities he has assumed include:
- Member of the House of People Representative (Parliament ) of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia;
- Vice President of Ethiopian Universities Consortium;
- Board Member of Oromia Development Association (ODA);
- Member of the World Peace Advisory council
